Third: Qualified candidates who are enrolled members of another (Non-Pojoaque) Indian Tribe.

JOB PURPOSE:  Establishes, plans, and administers the overall policies and goals of the information technology department for Pojoaque Gaming, Inc., Buffalo Thunder, Inc., Pojoaque Pueblo Commercial Development Corporation, and Pojoaque Pueblo Enterprise Corporation.

Assist qualified Pueblo of Pojoaque Tribal members in employment opportunities with the Pueblo of Pojoaque Businesses by hiring, coaching and supporting their career growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Analyzes the needs of departments and establishes priorities for feasibility studies, systems design and implementation to develop new and/or modify the company's information processing systems.
  • Formulates departmental policies and procedures.
  • Accountable for the profitability of key functions and operations of the company and the maintenance of a positive company and the maintenance of a positive company image in the marketplace.
  • Exercises considerable judgment and decisions making in executing the strategic initiatives and meeting the mission and vision of the company
  • Long-term planning.
  • Directs and coordinates information systems and telecommunications services for PGI, BTI, PPCDC, and PPEC.
  • Audits and reviews systems and practices to ensure compliance with procedures, regulations, and standards.
  • Evaluates new hardware and software; advises users on hardware and software alternatives; sets standards for selection of software.
  • Reviews and approves software recommendations to assure it meets user needs and is network compatible.
  • Develops network standards and operational procedures.
  • Ensures protection of PGI, BTI, PPCDC, and PPEC data through physical security, anti-virus methods, and data backup and recovery.
  • Oversees the repair of hardware failures.
  • Troubleshoots computer network problems.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):

    • Personal computer hardware and software, local and wide area networks systems.
    • Principles, capabilities, and operations of computer systems.
    • Principles of file and data management systems.
    • Software operating and compatibility issues.
    • Computer networking design and operations.
    • Installation and utilization of client/server applications.
    • Considerable knowledge of LAN/WAN administration.
    • Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment.
    • Set priorities and follow projects through to completion.
    • Identify and diagnose problems related to computer hardware and software, and to find effective solutions
    • Good verbal and written communication skills

    REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • High School Diploma or GED.  .
    • Demonstrated proficiency in leading multiple strategic initiatives and organization/system wide complex and/or highly technical programs and plans in key business segments.
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; and four years directly related work experience; OR,
    • Technical training through technical vocational schools or organized computer training programs with emphasis on computer network; and six years directly related work experience; OR,
    • Six years’ experience in the administration and support of computer networks; maintenance of NT networks; certification in Microsoft products; A+ certification in repair of computer products, Windows and DOS.

     

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: 
      • Standing-20% /Walking-30% /Sitting-50%; Work is performed in Casino and office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate such as found in a normal business office. with computers.
      • Lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs.
      • Required to work weekends and holidays as needed
