JOB PURPOSE:   Assists the Manager of the restaurant operations. To ensure guest satisfaction and maintain high standards of customer service.


Assist qualified Pueblo of Pojoaque Tribal members in employment opportunities with the Pueblo of Pojoaque Businesses by hiring, coaching and supporting their career growth.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  



  • Sets and continuously achieves high standards in food quality, presentation, and service to ensure guest satisfaction

  • ?Practices the companies mission/vision statement along with its core values. 

  • Supervises approximately two supervisors and indirectly supervises up to twenty team members

  • Creates a strong team devoted to exceptional customer service through hiring, training, team-building, evaluation, and leadership

    • Coordinates daily projects with supervisors

    • Completes work scheduling, team member tips sheets and monthly inventories.

    • Completes hiring, disciplinary actions, payroll timesheets, leave requests, and performance appraisals

    • Oversees training program to ensure that employees are fully trained

    • Reviews and monitors the performance of supervisors

    • Recommends pay increases within “pay-for-performance” guidelines



  • Assists in Managing all financial responsibilities to meet restaurants and bar profitability requirements

  • Maintains efficient systems for ordering, receiving, storing, and inventory of all food products

  • Ensures a safe environment for staff and customers

  • Enforces Pueblo pf Pojoaque liquor laws

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):



  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older

  • Knowledge of food preparation and presentation, and food handling safety practices

  • Ability to handle a variety of customer requests and personalities

  • Must be people oriented and knowledgeable of customer relations practices

  • Good knowledge of supervisory, management, and decision-making techniques

  • Ability to formulate budgets and calculate profit and loss

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of restaurant policies, procedures, and guidelines relative to retail sales, ordering, storing, inventory of food products, and money-handling 


REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Four (2) year degree in restaurant management, retail management or related field and 2 years of successful progressive supervisory/management experience, OR, a High school Diploma or GED and 2 years of progressive related experience

  • Must be state licensed to serve alcohol

  • Demonstrated commitment to a career in food & beverage

  • Must have valid driver’s license 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: 



  • Primarily restaurant office setting

  • On 24-hour emergency call; may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays

  • Some travel required

  • Walking/Standing, 80%-Sedentary, 20%; Employee may walk or stand up to 4 hours at a time

  • Lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. 

  • Some exposure to heat and smoke from stoves and ovens

  • Exposure to some cleaning chemicals
